Return to School Year 2020-2021 - We Need You To Complete 2 Surveys - one for the DOE and one for I.S.2

This fall, your child’s school will offer a combination of in-person and remote learning. You can choose from two options:
1. 100% Remote Learning: Opt in to have your child learn 100% remotely (all online, from home). To choose this option for your child, fill out and submit this form. If you are having difficulties completing this form online, call 311.
OR
2. Combination of In-Person and Remote Learning: Your child can follow their school’s schedule, a mix of in-person days at school and remote learning days from home. To choose this option, no action is needed: your school will be in touch about its schedule and programming plans in the coming weeks. Please visit the Return to School 2020 pages on the website for more information.  https://www.schools.nyc.gov/school-year-20-21/return-to-school-2020

Please Go to the website to opt into one of these two options: (This one is for the DOE)

Changing Preferences:
If you chose 100% Remote Learning but want to change your child’s preference back to Blended Learning, complete this form again by August 7.
After August 7, any family who chose 100% Remote Learning will have the option to change back to Blended Learning at a few specific times during the school year.

I.S.2 also NEEDS YOUR FEEDBACK!!!
As we plan for our re-opening, we need your support in determining the best plan for our community. We will do our best to accommodate your needs within the guidelines we receive from the NYC Department of Education and our building capacity. Please complete a survey for each child that attends IS 2. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Please copy and paste the link below.

Required Reading and Summer Assignments due September 2020

You will be required to read two books over the summer, one will be fiction and one will be informational. You may choose books that interest you, as long as you meet the requirement (specific topics, specific genres within the two mandated types of books.) For example, perhaps you want to read a biography about a famous baseball player, that would meet the requirements for an informational text. Also, you like to read mysteries that would meet the requirements of fiction. Click the link below for some suggestions and more details.

We are thrilled to make more e-books and audiobooks for all ages available for free this summer to all DOE families, and it’s easier than ever to access them. Please read on for more information, and visit schools.nyc.gov/summerreading for additional details to be posted on Monday, June 29.

About Us

Welcome to our school! We believe that parent participation is key to student success; our new website is designed to provide parents with all the information they need to be active participants in their student’s education. You will find that the site works just as well on mobile devices as it does on a desktop so you can find information on the go.
